The View From Here

Ever wonder what Eversys people are up to when they aren’t hitting deadlines?
In our new series, The View From Here, we’re stepping away from the espresso machines to meet the people behind the technology sharing the local passions and mountain traditions that inspire us every day. First up is Sandra, our Regional Business Development Director for Europe & South Africa.
She traded her keyboard for skis to tell us how the Valais mountains shape her life and her work.
Local passions and mountain traditions
From starting on the slopes at age three to finding business clarity at the summit of a glacier, Sandra shares why 'Life is for Living' through 10 questions.

Where did you start skiing?
I started skiing in Saas-Fee when I was just three years old. The glacier areas above Saas-Fee will always be my happy place.
What do you love the most about the sport?
The combination of nature and movement. It’s just you, your body, the mountain, and the elements.
What is your favorite spot to ski in the Valais?
There are so many extraordinary places in Valais, but the glacier areas above Saas-Fee will always be my happy place. Hike out to the Brittania Hütte and look out into the direction of Italy. The light and air up there are just different — the deafening silence is powerful.
Do you prefer a perfectly groomed run or fresh powder?
I can’t choose. There’s nothing like floating through untouched snow. But I also appreciate a perfectly groomed run, when the corduroy lines are still untouched and there is nobody in front of you, yeah!
What is your favorite meal after a day of skiing?
Beer and Zweifel Paprika crisps.
« I’ve always lived by the philosophy: Life is for Living. » – Sandra.
What is your ideal mountain morning?

An early start. Before most people are awake. The first light breaking over the peaks. Silence. That quiet moment when the mountain feels private and timeless.
How does the Valais Landscape inspire your work at Eversys?
At Eversys, the pace is fast, our company is dynamic, and customer expectations are high. When I’m on the mountain, there’s no space in my mind for emails or meetings — only the next move.
“For me, the mountains are more than scenery. They stand for empowerment, serene beauty, silence, yet constant movement.” – Sandra.
What has skiing taught you about life or business?
Commitment. Once you point your skis downhill, hesitation is your enemy. You must choose your line and trust your technique. It’s the same in business — especially in a dynamic company.
How do you spend your time in the mountains once the snow melts?
The mountains never stop being a playground. In summer, I switch to my motor bike or downhill biking. Movement is essential for me. The landscape changes, but the energy remains.

What is one Valais experience everyone should try at least once?
A sunrise ski tour. Walking up with touring skis and skins while it’s still dark, pushing through the cold, sometimes fighting tired legs — and then standing on a summit as the first light hits the peaks. That moment makes everything worth it. It clears your head and reminds you that you are part of this fragile ecosystem that deserves protecting.
